Madonna’s Latest Kick

October 15, 2006

Turns out that David, the child in Malawi that Madonna wants to adopt, already has father who loves him and wants him. Is it ethical for this “nice Christian lady” (Madonna???) to sever his rights to his child? This story is truly sad.

Poverty-stricken father of the baby Madonna is adopting tells his story

By Angella Johnson (Daily Mail)

Madonna has come under fire for adopting Yohane Banda’s son

The father of the little boy adopted by Madonna in Malawi has described his feelings of confusion and powerlessness in the face of the singer’s determination to take his only surviving child away…

…David was one of around 100 babies being cared for at the Home of Hope. But it was he who Madonna selected to share her opulent lifestyle, taking only slightly longer to make her choice, according to one acerbic critic, “than she would to select a new handbag”…

I think if Madonna were truly interested in helping, she would have made an effort to help the father raise his child. Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish, feed him for a lifetime. But then, this isn’t the first time Madonna has publicly done something to make her feel good. Can anybody say, Kabbalah?

Ehhhh? Come again? But the article describes her as a “nice Christian lady”. **Snort**

The Material Girl has succeeded in getting David out of the country, but has not managed to complete the adoption yet.

And Rahel, I agree with you; Madonna **could** have preserved David’s family and uplifted his entire village for a small (for her) sum of money.
