So women are harassed in the states as well. I do not doubt that such behavior is becoming more common and rampant in Egyptian society, but to make this into a “I hate Muslim men” frenzy is not the answer. In many other countries, the station of women is even worse, take India, for example. I mean women being burnt alive because they cannot pay their dowries, certainnly a worse case scenerio. NOw, by mentioning dowry burnings, I in no way vindicate the behavior of these delinquent Egyptian men, but we need to assess the reasons for these transgressions. For instance, the huge prevalence of the internet, coupled with massive pornography on the internet is a major cause of this behavior. and incidentally, much of that pornography does not come from outside Egypt anymore, it is homegrown.
